Mamata urges investors to invest in Bengali cinema.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee appealed to potential investors to invest in Bengali cinema and television programs during the opening session of the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival on Monday.

“The Bengali film and television industries have enormous growth potential. As a result, I urge potential investors to invest in these two areas “While speaking to the crowd, the Chief Minister remarked.
She also advocated for some type of collaboration between the Mumbai and Kolkata entertainment industry. She tasked Shatrughan Sinha, a prominent Bollywood actor who is now a member of the Trinamool Congress in the Lok Sabha, with interacting with Bollywood on this matter.

The Chief Minister bemoaned the fact that he missed out on inviting entertainment industry heavyweights to the recently ended Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) 2022.

“It was truly a blunder on our behalf. The titans of the entertainment sector would undoubtedly be invited starting next year “Banerjee explained.
She also stated that the entertainment industry can make a significant contribution to the state’s economic development. According to her, the sector has enormous growth potential.
The Kolkata International Film Festival, now in its 27th iteration, will run until May 1. This season, a total of 104 films, including 59 short/documentary films, will be exhibited.
Kolkata International Film Festival is the country’s third oldest film festival. It was established as an annual event by the former Left Front administration in 1995.
